The divine rule of the gods was in full force now as war was well underway, Bellegar was marshalling his people with all the relentless purpose of industry. A torrent of activity to respond to the new threat of the Suo-ata and the scourge they represented as a threat. The attempt at diplomacy had failed and with it the certainty of years of bloodshed, the captive missionary was a strong minded individual. Indoctrinated heavilly in the ways of Chath, brain washed almost like the rest of the templars who had been converted personally by Chath. However even that faith was not immune to doubt when at the mercy of another gods divine power.

The templar wailed with grief at the images shown of his people and the troubles that had plauged them, also the knowledge that he would not be returned home to his people. He did not respond, he merely withdrew into a catatonic like state, speaking to no one and nothing. His way of coping with the troubles about, not even finding solitude in prayer but rather prefering to shut down completely while he was taken back to Agron.

Not that Bellegar was troubled much, for he began digging in heavily. First fresh builders from Highcliff came to help reinforce the area and began construction on a fort and farm land while the army defended from the occassional lizard hunting party. Their lack of organisation was a blessing to the sons of Bellegar for only the most hungry groups came looking that deep into the mountain pass. As construction began the master builders made quick work of a wall but not that it mattered, for a new force entered the second age. One unlike any other.

The new force was the Moridian, the wives of Bellegar. Their ilk was beyond alien compaired to the rest of the races and the soon burrowed into their mountains and began spawning many thrall larve. Those Thralls hatched out and began digging more tunnels and venturing forth to bring the queen food and materials. Which lead to more being spawned, each mountain turning into a warren of turrels and passages filled with Moridian beings. Their rapid spawning nature and perfect cooperation though came at a cost, only the soilder castes and up were caperble of worship and it was not advanced worship. Their simple minds ment only the Queens themselves could truly worship but it did ensure absolute loyalty. Within a matter of days the mountains were crawling with Thralls which scavenged food for the queen, teams of them digging out ore from the mountains and bringing it to the fort. Whole groups of them carrying entire trees to the fort to supply it with lumber which only sped up its construction and it wasnt long before it was fully constructed, an army of slave labour essentially saw to that.

The Queens also began breeding their soilders, many groups of them could be seen patrolling around the base of their mountains. Even clashing with the Suo-ata which lead to a brutal battle, the ant things shredding lizardmen only to be brought down by weight of numbers, lizards jumping on them and battering their carapace open with clubs and stone axes. Yet the irony was that those lizardmen soon died after consuming the toxic flesh of the Moridians, their poison glades penetrating their bodies and destroying any who ate from them.

The North Hive was far more peaceful though, they infested the mountains and quickly became the annoying neighbours of the Harpies. The flying devils didnt much care for the ants that now competed with them for food and screetched viciously at them every time they crossed paths. Dispite their gods commands it seemed the harpies didnt like sharing and managed to throw a few Thralls to their deaths off the peaks, harrassing the workers. They began to beseetch their goddess for help while maintaining a not so healthy distance from the hive workers whenever possible. Dispite that though it seemed that Bellegar did have a gnack for cooperation, enough to make a pact with his trade partner and two shrines build in the trading post. It came naturally to those there to worship both since they already admired much about each others cultures, bringing fresh power to both the gods.

Fort Ordo was born and it began a hive of a differant type, buzzing with activity and work. Forges being constructed, weapons being made. Ballistics moved up onto the four main towers to defend from air assaults, catapults inside, well supplied with rocks by the Moridian thralls. Even the mammoths were being taught to act as rudamentry siege equipment in case of attack, not that it was planned for since war began to take an aggressive turn.

The army of Bellegar was lined up and their clever assault began, three waves of attack. First a mammoth stampeed to clear the way, followed by boar riders and Bellegar, then the mass of barbarian men. It was a bold plan and it took the first Suo-ata tribe head on, by surprise too because the dim lizards hadnt seen the mammoths up close yet. Battle was ugly, the mammoths barged straight into the tribes hunting grounds smashing trees down and trampling many but it didnt take long for the lizardmen to latch onto them and butcher them as they continued to rampage. Giant beasts covered in scaled monsters who hacked into their flesh, finially starting to bring them down when the thundering of a god approached. Bellegar smashed into the recovering lizardmen and his charge further backed by giant boar riders and the boars themselve, fierce beasts with giant tusks that gored many a lizard. It further scattered the lizardmen but they had little notion of retreat, dispite Bellegars clever plan there would be no easy victory.

The Suo-ata turned on their attacks, swarming in great droves around the attacks in an attempt to encircle and butcher them. It was a simple but effective tactic, save on Bellegar who crushed them with stomps and hammerfalls. Once again clusters of boar riders were fending off waves of lizards who came at them, which only provided the men running up behind with clear targets. The lizardmens swarming nature used against them as the soilders were able to swarm them in kind, circling around them and butchering them with the methodical action of trained and feirce warriors. The boar riders and mammoths were cut to peirces and a fair few soilders had been ripped apart. But victory was clearly Bellegar's a tribe near decemated and forced to finially give ground before he pulled back with his glory. Many of the men returning home with tales of war, while others embraced their new lives as frontiers men. A new fortress town fully supplied with farms and weapons, feeding both humans and Moridians alike and guarding the pass to Bellegar's domain.

Still it seemed the god of the mountain wasnt done yet, his new Moridian soilder caste had been given marching orders also. A small batch, only around fifty was sent towards the northern most city of fire and they decended down without thought or complained about their odds. The fire people were at first baffled, their town was not yet fortified but they were not stupid and kept and healthy watch. They did not know what to make of the bizzare creatures skuttling towards them until they were close enough to see the hostile intent. The alarm was raised and the raid was fully underway. Large beastial insects smashed into huts while desert warrios jumped on their backs and began hacking at them. Others batted away clawed spikes as they fought for their lives, some were simply consumed as acid hit them in the face from lethal spits.

The raid was defeated though, against a thousand desert people all armed and trained ment there was no victory hope. However it did bring with it many casulties, a hundred men and women injured and dying or dead. The bizzare ant beasts accounting for twice their own number before being brought down. An impressive start but also a stark omen, the war was going to be brutal. With the Suo-ata replacing their loses easily and now another swarm unleashed, who knew how such a war would turn out!
