Th creature held Mark firmly in its grip and raised him clear off his feet, witnessing first hand the tremendous strength of the creature Mark wondered why it took so long to kill his brothers. Striker wasn't the only one who had secrets to divulge, Kat also started to explain the true reason for her arrival at the station. Yes part of it was because Striker had commissioned her to do so, but there was much more to it then that. "Did you monks really think that there would be no retribution for the theft of this space station? Well, you were mistaken!" Lowering her voice she continued, "I'm the designer of this entire craft. When Striker informed me that you monks had altered the interior, sheathing everything in wood, I knew that this would be the place to give birth to my child." Now pointing to the hideous creature with its pale, smooth body. "You see I'm somewhat of a misfit myself. My baby could never live in the world beyond this sphere, our dependence on technology made him a monster. Pollution and so forth. No. He needed a place where he could belong, a realm thrown back to a simpler time." The creature shifted its gaze from Mark and looked intensely at Kat, apparently not amused that it had been used as a tool of revenge. Mark was freed of the creatures grip as it refocused its anger on the one that bore him. Grabbing her by the throat the creature lifted her into the air and then tossed Kat kicking and screaming beyond the artificial atmosphere. After killing its own mother the creature turned to Striker and brother Winthrow. Walking toward them, as if it was about to attack, it stopped and pointed at the floor. Striker and Mark knew that it was indicating to them that they were to remain in the levels below, never more to ascend to the surface of the station.

Standing on the cell level Striker and Mark looked around them to see that the wood had all been burned away. The two monks would spend the rest of their lives imprisoned within the very thing that had tried to escape, a completely technological world.
