A large bird with bright feathers watched the ginger girl sleep, reveling in the emotions coming from her. It was all quite delectable; confusion, anguish, slight irritation and a hint of love that the girl herself could not perceive. The phoenix enjoyed the negative emotions just as much as it enjoyed the positive ones, and how great was it that a large number of them was caused by the contract she made with the young human. She had been feeding on the feelings of random people for a long time, but her empathic ability was much stronger towards Eden. Of course, "feeding" was relative; it wasn't a form of sustenance, although as a being more from the realm of magic than the physical world, a phoenix could drain emotional energy for food.

Noticing the girl move, Nova raised her head a bit and asked the girl how she slept. That was also not exactly the truth, as while the phoenix could communicate telepathically, it could only do so in images, feelings and associations, without actual words.
