Lyall yawned, lifting a hand to cover his gaping mouth and popping one eye open to see Forin waltzing his way into the café. He gave the young wolf a nod of acknowledgement before going back to his staring at the wall. He remained unreactive as the cub intentionally bumped him on the back so hard; he didn’t even budge.
“I’m afraid that I am merely your humble Alpha… I ain’t your mom. Make your own food, you know where the kitchen is.”
The brunette responded monotonously, lifting his gaze to see Chace entering the café. He raised a hand in greeting, and then turned his head slightly towards Forin to speak to him again.
“And for your information, I did not pick up a young bird. I picked up a girl in my jaws and ran with her into the forest, then she did some kind of magic or hex and tripped me up. I felt we scared them enough that night and I sent her home. And I hope we don’t have to run into them again soon…”
The Alpha trailed off as his gaze drifted towards the door and saw the exact same redhead walking into the café. Immediately, the wolf was tense and he felt a low growl come from deep within his throat. It wasn’t an angry growl, it was more like a… A slightly possessive growl, like his natural instinct was to vault the counter and stand at her side. He shook the feeling off and lowered his gaze, pretending he hadn’t seen her.
