January 7, 2020: A day before the encounter:

He laid there emotionless. He could hear the breeze outside of his home entangling itself within the trees; he could hear the birds happily chirp in the distance. He could hear the sound of his house creaking occasionally as strong winds pushed against his house, urging him, calling for him to come outside. A shallow sigh left his lips. Slowly he opened his eyes, revealing his light brown, almost golden eyes to world that he was forced to become accustom to. Darkness. Darkness was all he could see. He knew, no, he felt the sunā€™s potential rays engulfing the exterior of his home, but he knew he was no longer allowed to be in the presence of the sun without greeting death.

God no longer wanted to see him in the brightest days. No matter how many days he prayed for forgiveness, none was given upon the creatures of the night. Another sigh left his lips. The longer he kept his eyes open, the objects around him began to form a bit. He could hear the breathing of his wife next to him. It was so soft, barely audible. Looking over, he studied the woman that laid next to him. Her skin had color, which resembled to those that could walk beneath the sun, but he knew better. Her long raven black hair wrapped around her curvy body in a way most males would find intriguing, maybe even seductive. The silk clothing she wore was thin and so he could see almost every inch of her body, her form. She was indeed an extremely beautiful creature; but to him, he felt nothing towards her.

Aiden Navernusā€™s passion and lust has long been demolished. It was instead replaced with feelings of guilt, hatred and bitterness. Aidenā€™s golden eyes stared at his wife. Her name was Elizabeth. His eyes shifted down to her small neck and he began to glare. He felt nothing for this woman, his emotions became stale, yet the bitterness still remained. Aiden was extremely bitter towards this woman. This woman had changed him. Had taken and given him a life he never desired for. This woman had taken what he held most dear to his heart. His Emilia. Oh there were so many times Aiden had imagined the death of Elizabeth, wanting to give her the fate she so truly deserved. Sighing, he looked away from her. He knows he cannot kill her by his hands alone. Despite her appearance, she is much stronger than he.

Aiden looked up towards the ceiling of his room. His room was located in the basement, no light were to enter is room whatsoever. Even though it was in the basement, it was garnished with furniture, items, pristine floors and designs. A room fit for a Queen. He stared up at the chandelier that was made with pure gold. Though the year he lived in was extremely modern, the items within this room were a mixture of modernization and antiques. Most of the furniture were antiques, while the decorations were modern. He stared up at that chandelier and simply waited for the time to pass.

He could not fall asleep. Something was hindering him from falling asleep. His restless mind and soul kept him up most nights, but today he felt something different. It was a feeling that unsettled him. This sensation he was feeling was not unfamiliar. He had felt it before, about twenty-one years ago. He felt him feeling nervous, but excited for some odd reason. Aiden has no idea what this sensation may be, but it did utterly confuse him. After Aiden lost his human life, his emotions were practically drained. He had mentally become dehydrated form the lack of emotions. These sensations woke him up with the emotions of excitement, anticipation, nervousnessā€¦Something he had not felt after his Emilia passed away. He could feel something or someone was going to come to him, or he was going to find something when the night falls, and so he simply waited.

He had done this before. He had lain in one spot before without moving an inch, without falling asleep. As the hours began to pass, he could feel the sunā€™s rays becoming weaker and weaker with each passing hour. His body began to strengthen as the moon began to reveal itself. As soon as the sun began to set, Aiden finally moved.

Sitting up, the thin white sheet that covered his body slid down to his lap, revealing his rather tone frame. His muscles tightened as he stretched his arms up and back slightly. He cracked his neck by pushing his head to his left shoulder and then to his right before rotating it in a circle. His neck crackled from his stiffness. Taking a deep breath, his chest enlarged as he held the breath for a moment before releasing it slowly. Moving off the bed, he revealed his long black pajama pants and his bare feet. His movements were quiet as he made his way over to a small desk located by the right wall that was covered with beautiful bookshelves.

Aiden was a reader. He had always enjoyed reading, even when he was human. He enjoyed reading fantasies ironically, considering he was part of a special society most humans would consider listed under fantasy. His most favorite book was actually written by an unknown author, the title of that book was called, ā€œRevivalā€. It was a adventure fantasy about a rare and special liquid that could be given to a decease body and that body will become alive again as a human. It could also make immortals become human again, but for only one day. Once that day passed, that immortal will die but as a human. That liquid was extremely hard to find, within the book it was told that it was hidden within the mountains in the area what is now known as Ukraine.

Pulling the chair back, he grabbed his journal and sat down. With his left hand, he grabbed a pen and began to write within his journal once more. Every morning he did this and will write about what he did the day before or whatever was on his mind. It was a routine. He picked up this habit a few decades ago. He was told by a fellow vampire that it could help him with his so called, ā€˜depressionā€™. This way, he could express his deep emotions by the way he wrote.

January 7, 2020:
ā€œToday I woke feeling rather strange. This feeling was a mixture of excitement but it made me nervous at the same time. I wonder what it could be? I had felt this before, but itā€™s much stronger now. Much stronger...

Yesterdayā€™s meal did not satisfy me. Lately, no blood had been able to feed the appetite that has been growing. I want something sweet, not bitter. Perhaps I will go to the coffee shop tomorrow. Maybe Iā€™ll go with Marcus or he can meet up with me. That would be nice. We could pretend to be human and mingle with everyone else and be part of a society we were once inā€¦. Oh how I miss those days. No matter how many decades or centuries that could pass; I can never forget the life I once hadā€¦ My dear, dear Emiliaā€¦ I miss you so muchā€¦No matter how many years I am forced to live in this retched world, I can never forget you. Soon my love, I promiseā€¦when I have the chance, I will return to you. I will return to embrace you...

Aiden paused he when heard Elizabeth stir from her sleep. He placed the pen down and immediately put his journal away and placed it in a location that could be hard to find. Looking over towards Elizabeth, he forced a small grin. ā€œYouā€™re awake, I heard you have a meeting today with the council.ā€ The council included all the nobles, counting Rebecca. Aiden had spoken to Rebecca a few times, publicly and privately. Something about her was different from everyone else, but Aiden has not figured out if he could trust her or not.

Aiden stood up and moved over towards the bathroom, as he entered it, he locked the door behind him and removed the rest of his clothing to shower. He had never allowed Elizabeth to see his entire bare body. After his shower, he brushed his teeth and went into the bathroom closest to pick out what he will wear today. He picked out a white button up shirt with sleeves, black polyester pants, a black trench coat and a pair of Prada black shoes that had a small heel. As he dressed, he left the shirt un-tucked as he threw on his coat before sliding socks on and his shoes.

He had plans today. He was going to hang out with Darius. He didnā€™t know where they were going, but like usual, he was going to hang out with him. Darius is one of the few vampires he grew fond of. He was also a best way to stay away from Elizabeth. He had meet Darius during his early years as a vampire and ever since then, he became accustom to seeing him around. At first, he didnā€™t pay much attention to Darius, nor any vampire in that matter, but after awhile, he became use to Darius and slowly began to open up with him much how Darius slowly began to open himself up to Aiden.

Walking out of the bathroom, Aiden gave Elizabeth only one glance, ā€œIā€™ll be upstairs,ā€ before grabbing his cell phone and leaving her to herself as he exited the room. Aiden was not her protector, she had many of those. The best protector of all of them is Drake. Drakeā€¦Aiden couldnā€™t care less about him, but even he knew how protective he was over Elizabeth and how much Drake disliked Aiden. It was obvious.

Aiden made his way up to the upper level floor and entered the rather large library as he waited for the arrival of Darius. Pulling out his phone he began to text Darius:

A.N: I had that strange feeling from before, itā€™s stronger. What do you think it might be?
