As they rays of the sun started to fade and the sky turned darker, Rebecca woke up. She open one eye slowly to reveal one hazel eye before opening the other. First she got her bearings and looked around. The vampiress was laying in a large 4 poster bed that was made of mahongany and with dark violet and cream colored bed sheets made out of silk. Rebecca refused to sleep in a coffin for it was just too uncomfortable. Once she tried it and that was the only time she didn't get any sleep. Why did humans think that vampires slept in coffins? It was one of those silly cliches that humans came up with. One thing humans did get right was the fact that sunlight was deadly for vampires. It was why Rebecca's sleeping chambers were deep underground with many security systems and other protection devices. The ancient vampiress never took any chances when it came to her safety. Thank goodness she lived in an age where security systems were highly advance. Of course, the best protection Rebecca had was her bodyguard Garrison. She had complete trust in him and knew he would gladly lay his 'life' down for her.

Getting up, Rebecca grinned a bit thinking of the time when they first met. He had already been a vampire, but Rebecca hadn't know that. Through the centuries he had been the one to train her so she could protect herself. It took Rebecca nearly a decade to get him to train her and that was only because once she had been attacked by hunters at the time and they nearly took out Garrison. After that, they had been very cautious. Garrision was a true friend and Rebecca loved him for that.

Clearing her thoughts, Rebecca reached for her Iphone and looked at her schedule. Another council meeting with her 'royal majesty'. It was something Rebecca always didn't look forward to, but it had to be done. Years ago it had been Rebecca's choice to get close to the vampire queen so hopefully one day, she would be the one to get rid of her. That was easily said than done. The biggest physical obstacle was Elizabeth's bodyguard, Drake. Thinking about him brought some sadness to Rebecca's eyes. She should have never gotten close to him. Rebecca wished there was some way to get rid of Elizabeth without getting rid of Drake, but that was very slim. The vampiress knew that if Drake died, another part of her would die all over again. Well, no was not the time to think about such things. Right now, Rebecca had to get ready for the day.

Standing up, she stretched her small yet curvy body. She wore a long nightgown the color of dark green. Walking into her bathroom, she took her time taking a shower before getting out and returning to her bedroom. Her closet was huge! Rebecca was not afraid to admit that she love shopping for it made her feel human to do so. Since today she had a council meeting, she wore 'business' clothes today, which consisted of black slacks, a burgandy blouse, and a black business jacket. She wore black boots too since it was winter. Rebecca brushed her hair before pulling it back into a low ponytail and she put on only a little bit of make-up. One of the perks of being a vampire was great skin. One reason she wore make up was so she look more human and it she just loved it too. Grabbing a matching purse, long coat, gloves, and scarf, she headed upstairs to get some breakfast. Exiting her room, she saw Garrison.

"Good evening." she smiled at him.

Garrison was the only one she knew she could be herself with and it was refreshing. Reaching the kitchen, Rebecca put her things down and went to the refrigerator to get out a packet of human blood. There were days she didn't hunt for she started investing in a company that stored human blood. They got it from human hospitals from their 'blood donations'. It was ironic that humans thought they were donating blood to help other humans, but were also helping out vampires. While the blood wasn't the freshest, it was very convient because feeding could be hassle sometimes. Looking out side, Rebecca wondered what this night would bring for something was in the air.
