"It's only awkward if you make it," she said with a slight smile.

Harlen was thinking about his relationship with his father. He spent more time with his mother than his father. Isis was always so warm and friendly. She always helped Harlen when he needed it and she was always more than willing to talk to his father about things. He wondered how Selina and Damian were.
"How do you think Selina and Damian are doing?" he couldn't help but ask out loud.
