Joey and Kristina were having an fairly equal match. They'd been going on for a while now doing some of the hardest songs there were. Joey started to feel the load being put on his legs, this was very pressing. He had been hoping she would quit a while ago, but Kristina turned out to be a real adversary.

When things couldn't get any worse, he heard the one thing he didn't want to hear. The high pitched shriek of a whistle and the yell of, "Wallace! What in the world are you doing! You're going to be on bench this year if you keep wasting your time like this. Now get over here!" Joey cringed when he heard that, but kept in the game.

"Coach, I can't stop now I'm going to win. Just give me a few more minutes, please!"

The slightly overweight man in a nice suit just stared at his back with a look of confusion. "Wallace, whose the coach here that has complete power over when you play and for how long! I'm giving you one more chance until I cut you from the roster."

Joey felt so much inner conflict, win this bet and get cut from the basketball team, or lose to a girl and have to live with that but still make the team. After what seemed like an hour of decision making in a few seconds, he stepped off the pad said to Kristina, "I guess I'll see you tomorrow for coffee." He walked out of the arcade with his head looking at the ground, defeated twice today probably by the same person. His coach followed close behind him, "If your parents found that you were wasting your time like that, they'd have done worse things than I could have." Joey didn't listen, this was a pretty bad blow to him.
