Zac blinked at her question. Always the same, is he okay, was he alright? He didn't know the answer to any of these questions. He couldn't remember a time when he wasn't like this. He touched the metal bracelet on his wrist, running his fingers over the letters. His initials. He felt hollow thinking of the man that gave the bracelet to him. But in response to her question, he simply shrugged. "I could be worse." It was true. He had been much worse. But he wasn't exactly "okay" either. Then he noticed where exactly they were. It was a very dangerous part of town. "What about you, where are you going? You know, these streets aren't safe at night on your own." He said to her, his caring and protective side kicking into overdrive. He wasn't about to let this girl walk alone. He would walk her to her destination, then go on his way.
