Matt drifted in darkness; he couldn't feel anything, not even the pain of his wounds. Guess this is it..... I hope they all- His very thought was caught off by a sudden jerk, then a fall that felt like forever. His wounds began to reappear on his mental body, although not quite as severe as they had been. A moment later pain shook him in its teeth like a dogtoy, and he reconnected with his physical body with a thud that made his brain explode, but was inaudiable to those around him. He couldn't move, couldn't get his eyes to open. More than pain shook him; his mind was too garbled to make out who was mindspeaking to him, or what they were saying. Someone kept shoving against his shoulder, causing more pain as he began to gasp for air...

Ash all but shrieked and rushed to hit Kyra in blind, terrified fury. How dare she make her move away from her brother, her dying brother?! But just as she wound up her punch, Matt let out a soft, choked halfscream of pain, his body racking with gasping coughs like he couldn't breathe. She shouldered past Kyra angrily, petting matt and trying to keep him still.
