Violet ran hard but stopped when the boy squealed in protest. "Don't go back," he cried. His sobs were broken words but she heard it loud and clear. She tried to ignore him and started to race along the dirt path that lead to the Mayor's Square but he screamed louder. "Don't go back! It's bad! I know it's bad," he whimpered. Violet didn't know what to say. The boy was screaming for her to leave the village, but her Mistress was somewhere inside the village. She was divided. "Put Nathan down!" he ordered sadly as he realized Violet wasn't listening to him. She put him down slowly watching the boy closely. Suddenly as she blinked, he had raced past her and was magically near the village gates already preparing to leave. She jetted towards him. His speed amazed her but she still caught up to the boy. They were already by the house. Violet was frustrated as she grabbed the boy roughly. "Don't run off, Nathan!" she scolded sharply. He cried again. She didn't know what to do.
