Cormi's little pony trotted along merrily, though many larger horses passed it at a walk due to it's short legs. She had been born and raised in Wildsgate, before Dara picked her up for training, thus the dust that floated in the air, as well as the dark forest that lay to the north, were practically the smell of her mother's cooking to her. Heavens, but it had been so long. She idly thought about perhaps going to see how her parents were doing while she'd been away. She'd finished her training a few years ago, but had been quite busy keeping her forest safe, so she hadn't gotten a chance to visit.

Abruptly, Cormi noticed her pony becoming... Agitated. If there was one thing she'd learnt under Dara, it was to trust the animals around you, and Cormi started looking around the ground for what could be spooking the shaggy beast. She didn't need to look for long. She heard a scream up ahead, and was instantly on the alert, urging the pony to run forward. She soon spotted the bats with their riders. She halted the pony, whom was starting to get beside itself, and leapt off. She drew her shortbow, reaching behind her head to her quiver, nocking an arrow. She took aim at one of the bat's riders, hoping to send the bat out of control, and loosed the arrow.
