Torgrimm walked slightly behind his traveling compainions, save for the small monk using his shadow as relief from the suns heat. He had left his home immediately after the message of the hooded wizard probed his mind, and was still perplexed as to why he had been chosen for the task, still he was at least happy that he had found some sort of purpose, albeit a temporary one. The sun was noticeably hot and Torgrimm was beginning to envy the the little gnome walking in his footsteps, still the wind gave a few breezes to make the walk more bearable, and the earthy smell of the forest helped with his moral.

His ears twitched at the sound of running feet, not long followed by a horrified scream. The gnome sprinted to the front and Torgrimm followed with no hesitation, finding a flock of mounted bats dropping from the sky to engage the group. The orc stopped right in front of the small human still on horseback and threw his spear to the ground, opting for his shortbow for the flying vermin. His large hand slipped an arrow from the quiver at his waist and knocked it, then pulled the small bow back with ease, aiming for the face of the bat closest to the party.
