Garath's gaze narrowed as he studied her reaction. Hesitation, uncertainty, terror.

"Take the cuffs off her."

Garath said suddenly breaking the silence in the room. The guard looked at him with a surprised expression.

"Sir?"

Garath didn't repeat himself. With little more than a look the guard swallowed hard and did his duty, releasing Willow from the cuffs. The guard returned to his position just before Garath spoke again.

"Now get her a chair."

Gatenby's tone seemed more than demanding. Perhaps Garath was annoyed by the guard's attempt at questioning him. Perhaps he felt the need defend Willow after her ordeal only to be treated unfairly by some nameless prison guard. Whatever the case the guard hurried to do as he was told, bringing a chair and setting it behind Willow.

"Thank you... Now get out."

Garath demanded. The guard nodded obediently, the worry evident on the young man's face as he hurried out of the room. The second he left Garath's tone changed to a warm, relaxed demeanor.

"I'm sorry about that Willow. Please take a seat."

He said kindly as he walked toward the window and looked out at the inmates below.
