Garath turned when she finally spoke. She stammered out her response. Nothing but apologies and explanations. Garath crossed the room and crouched in front of so he was eye level with the young woman.
"Willow..."
He said, his tone commanding yet reassuring.
"You don't need to be afraid. You're not in any trouble."
Willow seemed unable to meet his gaze. Not something uncommon. Most people found looking Garath in the eye unnerving, it was something he'd become accustomed to. Despite that he wanted Willow to look at him. He wanted her attention. He needed her to make the connection, for her own sake.
"Willow... Look at me."
