Kodaka's vision was red with rage. He wanted to kill everyone and everything. He glanced around wildly and saw the angel of death fighting with Akira. There was no sign of the other angel. He he gotten rid of him? But before Kodaka could launch himself at the two dueling beings, he noticed that the girl angel had appeared at L'Arc's side. She pulled out a small flute and began to play. The tune was soft and soothing and soon, Kodaka calmed down. Fiery rage died down and turned into overwhelming grief. Kodaka sunk to his knees and hung his head. He couldn't protect her and she was gone. He could've stopped her but he thought that he was strong enough to protect her. He looked at his hands, and tears dripped from his face as he shook with sadness. If only..... "You thought I would leave you? Hell no. My heart's too strong for that," Kodaka's eyes shot open and he jerked his head up. A soft raspy voice came from behind him where Modikai lay. Wait. Did she just? He turned his head and saw the demon girl smiling weakly at him. Blood was on her face but her eyes were shining with strength. "But I can guarantee you, I might be in the hospital before you know it. I can't fight now with..."-she said as her gaze shifted to her tail- "...with this disadvantage. But, you can do it Kurenai-sama," The girl shook as if in pain. "Modikai!" He got back up and knelt beside her again and grabbed ahold of her hand. "But I thought.... You were....." He shook his head and grinned. Tears of joy now ran down his face. He looked into her eyes. "My name's Kodaka, idiot. No more of that formal stuff. We're friends now." He looked down and smiled again. "Maybe even more than that." He mumbled.
