Kallik, the Shakey Fruit Bat HybridWhat are you?
Kallik nearly fainted from shock at that instant. He made a squeeking noise and jumped at least 4 feet into the air. Once he landed - on his ass, none the less - he turned to his attackers. That word was probably overused in his vocabulary, but at the moment all he cared about was the fact that a massive, hungry looking snake was near him. He noticed another lady, but he was too terrified by the cobra to do anything but stare.
What are you? The question kept reverberating in his brain, constantly thrashing about. He would have tried to get up and run, but it was getting close to mid morning and his lack of human coordination was starting to get the best of him. Every time he would try to answer, it would stutter out as "I... i-I... W-We-ell..." He closed his eyes, hoping he wouldn't fall asleep, and then finally burst out with quick, fast paced words.
"I'm just a small, insignificant fruit bat from the zoo and I've been trying to get back to my cave cause the sun is coming up and I don't want to fall asleep out here where something will eat me so please, please just let me pass and don't eat me!" Each word came out quicker than the first, making it almost sound like total gibberish, at least to him. However, talking that much while the sun rose also had its after affects: He was starting to get really tired. He hadn't realized how much he had actually eaten nor how much he had ran on his blasted human feet. He wished he could just curl up into a little ball, back in his normal form, and sleep, or even die. He didn't care. He nearly drifted off to sleep, when he looked more closely at the snake. Could it be...
"Were... Were... Were you one of the animals from that zoo?" He thought the cobra looked awfully familar, but he wasn't sure why. Sure, while at the San Diego zoo, there were lots of snakes and other animal hybrids, but he couldn't remember if any of them survived. The only people he remembered were that Zuhuru, the one who he was pretty sure hated him, the Doctor and a few other mammals.
