Nick stayed in the room staring out the window, blocking his entire existence and thought about the last time he saw Analise. The day before that his cousin, Jonathan, had asked why he liked Ana. Why he smiled whenever she came into a conversation or why he didn't bother to explain to his parents where he had gone off to when he spent the night with Analise. Nick didn't have an answer. All he could muster up, with his extensive college vocabulary was, "Cause, Analise is..." he never finished the sentence. There were never words for what she made him feel. Jonathan's taunting voice crept into is head again, just like the day that he broke the news to Analise. "You're never going to be good enough to her. She will follow you like a dog, just like your pathetic mother."

Nick heard the loud whimper and jumped up to the door swinging it open. "Analise, what the hell are you doing?" Without thinking he slid his arms around her thin waist and lifted her up, carrying her to the bed. He dropped her gently with the same mind set he held when they were in the middle of their relationship. He shut the door and let his eyes follow around her body. "Are you alright? You sounded hurt," his eyes were piercing, yet kind. He had forgotten their current situation. Analise made him forget like that.
