Nick was going to scoff and say something that would throw Ana into another fit about how much of a jerk he was, but he bit his tongue. He made a fist and let her wobbly stand up. He watched the back of her head and let out a loud sigh. "I'm asking myself the same question. Why do I still care about you? I can't find an answer." He walked back to the chair where he had sat and watched her taking her short nap. He leaned back and rubbed his wrist. "You know I hate seeing you hurt. And in my mind, I don't care if your fifty-three, I'm still going to worry about you. I'm still going to treat you like a baby. Cause, that's just me." He looked up at her face with her red hair covering her eyes.

"But you don't care about me, do you? I don't blame ya," he smiled drily, "I'm that bastard who ruined you. You don't want me. You don't deserved my ass. And I'd be dreaming the impossible if I deserved anything like you," he stood up and started to walk to the door. With his hand on the door knob, he whispered, "The crazy thing is, I still want you," he scoffed, "But maybe that's just Cupid talking," he twisted his hand on the knob and opened the door, shutting it behind him. He walked slowly down the hall wishing Analise would run after him like she should have the day he made the biggest mistake of his life. Well, he shouldn't blame her. It was his fault anyways.

"Fuck my love life," he whispered rounding a corner towards the elevator.
