Walter Miller, head of the Occult sciences division at Marshall College, and Grail historian Abigail Mchugh met in 1941 and soon thereafter took up a quest for the legendary item said to enable one to communicated with the dead, this most sought after machine was known as the Ouija Device. During this quest Andrea Lexington fell to her death from the third story window of Danver's Insane Asylum in upstate New York. 1943 Walter traveled to Germany and France with his friend Abagail, the twosome were soon joined by Indiana Jones, together they quested for the 'Blackstone of Lucifer' which was a part of Lucifer's throne, which was reputed to give ultimate dominion over the earth.

The Throne of Lucifer was buried within the mountain beneath the Monsegur stronghold in southern France. Walter was shot by the SS officer Niclas Elberich during this period. In 1944 Walter traveled to Ireland at the request of Abigail, asking him to join Indiana and a young archaeologist named Bridget O'Maley. The four scholars sought out three magical items, the fourth item, the Sword of Fraegarthach had already been retrieved by Niclas Elberich, though the item was ultimately destroyed. Bridget was shot and killed by Niclas, who was then chased by Walter.

The date is now September 28, 1945. Hitler is dead and the world breaths a sigh of relief, American soldiers have been steadily returning to their homes and family's and there is hope in the air. Rumors concerning certain treasures smuggled out of the Fuhrer's bunker during the last few days of WWII have been gaining in frequency and popularity.
