"Hey Oskana! What did you come up here for? Did you know there are 123 different species of roses? Do you think the garden has them all?"
That must have been Amy. What was she doing here? In any case, it didn’t seem as though Oskana was alone, so there was no need to worry about her causing a scene. What was Amy doing here, though? It seemed like she would be studying rather than here.
“So you’re not hitting the books today?” Treia rearranged her hair hastily – she had tried something new with it so that it wouldn’t look so flat and dead, but she had failed miserably – not only that, but it was uncomfortable. She swore to herself that she would NEVER try using more than four hair ties at the same time. They were just too hard to manage.
Right. She was going to help Oskana out of her little situation with Amy. What should she say to make Amy go away, though? What if they couldn’t get rid of her before they had to deliver the package or worse, what if Judgement came and saw them in this situation?
She felt the chill down her spine again. What was going on? Was there something happening that she didn’t know of that was affecting her? She looked up and saw the star winking down at her again. It reminded her of a distant memory of the last year, when she had received The Star from Itex…
She looked up to find a star winking down at her. It was a warm night, but she felt cold – specifically, there were chills running from her spine to the tips of her fingers and toes. Something was going to happen to her, and she highly doubted that it would be good. She saw a shadow move and bolted from her spot reflexively, but was caught by a strong arm. A strong, warm arm.
“I have been looking for you.” The man, cloaked in the shadow of the night, had handed her something. “This was waiting for you to come to it. Come. I shall show you the power I am bestowing upon you.”
A tug. As she shook herself out of her dazed state, she realized that no, there wasn't anyone pulling on her as she had thought. Someone had just bumped into her and caught one of her hair ties on something.
