The pieces had been set and the hunt had begun once the four opposing force users had been introduced to the barren planet. Once the shuttles for the hunters had set its foot on the planet surface, Anakin began his journey to follow them. Embracing the dark side as much as his human body allowed him, he was forced more than usual to take the guise as Darth Vader making his way to the Sith home world.
As the shuttle approached, Anakin’s path took him away from where either force had landed and in the center of the great tombs that the Valley had been well known for. They were said to have been pillaged during these times, but it was only the case for those who desired material belongings. For those attuned to the force, there was far much more valuable treasure here to be found than any ancient weapon or piece of a lost civilization. Having learned this from his previous visits, Darth Vader was more powerful every time he left the planet and it would be no different this time.
Entering the nearest tomb he had excavated before, Vader gathered the three holocrons that still survived and were the closest thing to what he had to the power he sought. Kneeling before them, the three ghosts appeared and looked onto the aspiring Sith Lord with observance. The legendary Sith Lord greeted, “Lord Vader. I see that you have fulfilled your promise to see two who walk the path of light to be brought here.” The ghost of Darth Bane observed. Behind him two other sith ghosts appeared who had laid claim to a similar power and would pave the path to what Vader desired.
Vader confirmed, “I have done so. Now you shall provide me with your side of the bargain.”
The skeletal ghost of Darth Andeddu pointed out, “And what if we do not do so? We need see that the light be extinguished on this soil as well.”
The striking ghost of Darth Zash agreed, “You know that you have no power over those who have become the force.”
Vader explained, “Because I have no need to extinguish your individual essences when it is a power I can grant to those who will serve under me.”
Darth Bane pointed out, “This is why he does not attempt to lay claim to our very existence.” Nodding, he allowed Vader to explain the power that he wished to learn from them.
Vader proposed, “The power you all have was the power to transfer your essence, your individuality of the force, into another shell. What I seek is a power that goes beyond this. Not merely the power to do this, but to manipulate the very will of the force to my will. The power to control the fabrics of life and death itself.”
Lightly amazed at the scale of power Vader was seeking, Bane offered, “Power over the living force itself has only been achieved by one. Perhaps it is something you have been told before but never thought it to exist?”
Vader knew of what Bane spoke, the former Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious told him a tale of the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise. When Sidious killed him, it was believed that everything he took had been taken with him and there was nothing to inherit. There was however now far more to what he had than he was led to believe.
Andeddu entered the conversation explaining, “Through the seams of the force we cannot place it, but we can see it. The holocron of Darth Plagueis does exist.” The one who managed to discover the path to manipulating the midi-chlorians of the force was all recorded within one portion as he had long hoped to hear.
Not taking this explanation, Vader demanded, “Where is it?”
Zash offered back, “And what do you plan to use this power for? Merely transferring your essence into another shell should be all you require for immortality.”
Vader shook his head explaining, “This is the power I plan to share with the galaxy. Once I have it, the Sith lords of old shall be revived. You will all be able to flourish under my empire and make it the way you see fit.”
Appeased to hear this answer, Bane offered, “We can attempt to see who it is knows of where the holocron is. But we still require the blood of the Jedi to be spilled here. If your lackeys are insufficient, you will be able to demonstrate to us how you became the new Sith Lord.”
Kneeling on his knees to begin meditation, Vader agreed, “Very well great lords.” With these parting words the ghosts of the sith lords disappeared into their holocrons and waited to be awoken again. Deep within meditation, Vader searched across the planet to see if the Jedi were to soon be killed. The sooner they did die, the sooner he would at last have the holocron he dreamed of seeing.
