It was not a pleasant thing to do shuffle through old accounting books to tally up expenses and revenue so that his Former Master knew his affairs. It was really a long and tedious procedure since he had to check, then double check, then check ones more to ensure everything was accurate, if it was not he was threatened with being beaten thoroughly. "I am not sure I would say I like numbers, Mistress, but that I can do them."

Aedan felt his jaw tighten at the mans mention. He hated hearing his name... hated hearing about him. "Mistress, it is not proper for a slave to speak of their former masters." He said through clenched teeth which was true. Usually you did not, and usually your new master did not ask, but if pressed and threatened with beatings, most slaves relented. No doubt it was for that reason that many of them were merely killed instead of sold, you did not want them spilling your secrets.

Luckily, Ana came in to interrupt any further lines of interrogation. The way she kept darting glances at him almost made him simile in triumph. She dotted on him because he was dangerous and forbidden. It was not uncommon.. She would no doubt day dream about him and have other fantasies, but anything more then that she would not want. At the end of the day, as pretty as he may be, he was still a dog in their eyes. Her father was already departing then, this was going to be a rough couple of days. Of course, the news he was supposed to be dining with her did not lighten the mood. Ravishing as she was, it was safer to keep your distance.

Mia departed leaving them alone, and Ana stood there dancing foot to foot no doubt unsure if she had time to talk to him, but he would save her, "You should get going." Aedan said softly, "I wouldn't want you to get in trouble." Well, no, he did not care if she got in trouble or not, but it made him look better in her eyes. Ana flashed a small smile and a light blush before bowing, which almost made him laugh, and left. The bow was probably just from reflex and something she did when she was nervous.
