Gone now... The thought made her frown. Her eyes glanced around the small room, her eyes lingering over the mattress. For the first time in years, she was going to have a bed. She only wished it was on better circumstances. Her eyes then drifted to the drawers for a moment and she looked down at herself. Once she started healing and feeling better, she would have to go out and find herself some more clothes. There were tons of houses that were abandoned, so perhaps she could find one with clothes that would fit her. Anything to get her out of the shirt that showed half her stomach and had a hold in the shoulder.

Her gaze went back to him as he spoke. A gentle smile appeared across her lips as he spoke with her. Honesty. That wasn’t something she expected with a question like that. He was protective, and she thought he would be that way about her question, telling her that she should get some rest or simply leaving without an answer. For him to tell her the truth made her feel good – made her feel better about how well they all worked together to get through their war.

Rae’s mouth opened to ask him another question about what he thought was best to do with the vampires that wanted to work with them. She wanted to know the history he seemed to have with the leader of the vampires, but it fell shut when he said he had to go. As he walked away, she stepped forward and quickly grabbed his hand, stopping him for a moment. When he looked back at her, she just slightly bowed her head.

“Thank you. You know, only the ones that are truly brave admit that their scared, and you, Calvin, are the bravest man I’ve ever met.” She said with a light smile and then let his hand go and slipped into her room before he could say a word back to her. She moved to sit over on the bed, blinking her eyes a bit to get used to the dark, reaching over to light the few candles that sat there so she could see. Rae opened the drawers, sighing gently when she found them empty. She ran her head over the top of the dresser and tucked the drawers away nicely before she looked under her at the mattress. Her hand ran along it and she laid down for a moment, laying on her good shoulder. Her eyes felt heavy again, but she wasn't going to sleep yet. There would be plenty of time for that later.

Rae licked her lips before she blew out the candle as she left, letting the curtain fall back into place before she quietly started to explore. She stayed away from the common area to give him privacy for the call he was making, as she searched for water. Rae wanted to try to wash up and get the blood off her skin and out of her shirt since it was starting to become uncomfortable.
