DuskDusk continued to tear down the corridor, dragging Aramay behind her. In the back of her mind, Dusk was surprised the girl was keeping up, previously she been left behind...in the maze. The thought gave Dusk a bit of guilt over the fact. Then again she had left marks, and the reason the girl was keeping up was probably due to a mutation like her own. Beside, now she couldn't focus on that. She would find Amp/Blast, get Kyra and leave. End of story.
Her heart was thumping wildly as her bare feet slapped onto the concrete floor. Her black hair flying behind her as she struggled to keep going, trying not to think of the pounding guards behind her. She started to lose momentum as her breathing became strained.
Her body was not made for stamina, but temporary speed, nonetheless she continued to fight her growing fatigue. It felt good to be back to health, now strong again. Oh what would Carmine think now? Once she had Amp, she would be able to go warn the others. She refused to think of what would happen if she failed. Her mind was on the brink of being broken, her fragile hope was the only thing keeping her from despair she needed to get Amp and get out.
She put on another burst of speed as she turned the corner…
The sudden sound of guns broke into her vision, and she let out a cry of despair as she saw the sheer number of guards. Her face drained of colour, before her legs gave way beneath her, causing her to fall to the ground.
Her green eyes dimmed dangerously close to tears, as she found herself on her knees the guards surrounding herself and the woman.
She prayed they'd shoot straight. She couldn't go back, death was so much sweeter.
