He took a step onto the stage as the crowd went wild. It was his fourth year as Head Gamemaker, to be exact. The click of his black boots was hard to be heard, but it still echoed in the distance. Everything was going in slow motion. The flashing lights, the colored wigs bobbing up and down, the sparkle across the stadium, and the smiles that were being swept across the Capitol. Oh how Rezno loved it. The fame and the glory along with the riches. What could be better? His gaze turned towards Fekrin Denire, the famous interviewer. He sat in the red, plushed chair. Red was the theme of this year, it reminded Rezno of blood. The blood that would be shed in his wicked arena. Fekrin was in a red, bedazzled tuxedo with a simple satin bow tie. He was around 40, but of course he had aging implants. Who didn't here in the Capitol? His red, dyed hair turned towards Rezno with his dark eyed look. He stood up from his crossed leg position and opened his arms.
"Ah, Rezno! The crowd had missed you!" Fekrin boomed across the microphone. Rezno gave a wide and white smile in return. He joined Fekrin's open arms in an embrace and replied,
"I think they missed you too!" The many Capitol citizens laughed at this as Rezno sat in an opposite plush chair. He chose to go simple this year, a black tux with a red tie. But who would forget his blue mohawk and beard? It was his signature look.
"Before we all watch the reaping together", Fekrin asked, "tell us, what's in store for the games this year? We all know it's the 30th year, so it must be important!" He gestured his arms towards the crowd as the screamed loudly. Rezno answered,
"Well, I can't tell you much." The crowd booed in response. "Well it's policy everyone! I can tell you that our arena is quite different from our past ones. I can assure, this year will be the biggest!" The crowd cheered as this statement.
Fekrin joked, "That's what you say every year, Rezno." The citizens laughed along with the Head Gamemaker.
"With me, bigger is better!" He let out another wide smile as he looked towards the screen. This year the reaping would be broadcasted which caused more excitement. "Let it begin!", he excalimed. With that, it had begun.
