"YOU'RE WORTHLESS!!!!" his father screamed at him. Onyx ran through the house as his father chased after him. "FREAKING WORTHLES!!!" His father was drunk, yet again. No surprise.

"Dad!" He mumbled weakly. "Please stop it!" He tried to push his father away, but it was no use. HE kept advancing. Onyx had gotten his strong body from his father. He was pushed to the ground, as usual, and beaten brutishly. "DAD!" he screamed. "AGHH!" He might as well have been whispering. No one heard his screams of anguish. His father's fists came down harder and harder. Finaly, after forever, it stopped. Onyx was so sore. The day of The Reaping and he was already hurt. For gods sake the games hadn't even started yet! They had for him, they would start for every one else later.

"I HATE YOU ONYX!" His father said as he tried to find escape in his room. He ran up the grand staircase and locked the door. His reaping suit was on the bed. It was a simple tux. He slipped the silky fabric on. It was a tailored suit. It fit the broad muscled frame of his accentuating every feature. He left the tie where it was, and instead left a couple buttons open. It looked better that way. He rolled his shoulder around in it's joint. his father had put all his weight on it this morning and it hurt like being stabbed.

He went into the town square to await the reaping. He was going to prove to his father he wasn't worthless. He was going to voulenteer his life to a living hell. "Hey Onyx..." The standard girl posse ran up to meet him. Their v-necked dresses complimented their -uh- eyes well. He secretly enjoyed the view.

"Hey ladies." he winked at them and continued on his way. They practically swooned.
