Aronimus noted some tension in Atomsk's reaction, which was anything but calm. The admiral, however, did not detect a hint of anxiety or nervousness, mainly because he did not expect it from someone such as the commander. His hurried salute meant there was perhaps some vital news that he needed to bring to Aronimus' attention. Even the admiral was surprised, the ship had barely departed yet, the crew members were still disbanding, and the marines were still setting up their quarters. Perhaps this could be some urgent message relayed personally to Atomsk, whom they wanted to bring the news directly to him.

Nonetheless, the commander asked about his position and duties, which was fairly odd even for Aronimus. A man like Atomsk surely should have been told or learned of his priorities on board the Salient beforehand. Although, Atomsk would be the unlikeliest of ground commanders given his past record of insubordination to superiors. A man who did not respect his superiors, surely would be unable to command the respect of his subordinates. Yet, that was merely speculation on the Admiral's part. Despite all this, the Admiral knew though that Atomsk was experienced in the field, and perhaps there was some unique aspect regarding this stubborn veteran that made him the suitable candidate to be assigned to this ship. However, the unique aspect or quality remained to be seen.

"At ease, Commander, what exactly did you want to talk to me about?"

The admiral continued his stride, expecting that commander Dunaway would follow him to the bridge if necessary.
