Lucifer gave a sigh, shaking his head. "Aya, Aya, Aya." The tone of Lucifer's voice was disappointed, but in a playful, mocking way. "In three-hundred years, have you not learned anything?" As playful as Lucifer was, he soon returned to a serious tone. "This 'worthless book' is not any book. It is The Book. The Words of God Himself. The words that mortals turn to for reason, order, love." He flipped open the first few pages, smiling as his finger lay across a passage.
βDid God really say, βYou must not eat from any tree in the gardenβ?β His smile was strangely warm, but in a evil way. "In the same token, these words can be twisted to create disarray, chaos, hate. Just a little twist, a little questioning."
"This war will require you to do more than just destroy Angels. If this war is to be won, we must collaborate souls. Turn God's Creation against Him. Stir rebellion against the Holy." He motioned to the other books, all of science, history, and religions not of God. "We already hold a good grip of this mortal plane. Just the right push, the right nudge, will send the world into our arms--and, effectively, our victory will follow."
Lucifer gave a nod to all his High Demons. "You all are authorized to leave to the mortal plane as soon as you wish; however, you must keep a low profile. We will meet tomorrow night at Saint Xaviar's Home for Orphaned Children. Dismissed."
As his Demon Leaders began to leave, he stopped Touya. "Hold on, I have something for you." He presented the Demon-son with a deck of cards. "Standard-edition playing cards. Texas Hold 'Em regulation...or so it seems." The deck glows with a dark red haze as all fifty-two cards fly out of the deck, floating in a circle around himself, the two Jokers coming out last, twirling around like electrons. "They are infused with my very blood, so that you do not have to bleed yourself to summon such simple spells--you can concentrate on more complicated spells and summonings, while being protected." The cards flew back into the deck-case, Lucifer putting it into the Demon's hands. He truly did worry that God would be harsher with his 'son's' death... "I know they are not what you are used to, but they will do well to protect you." He gave the Demon a smile and I nod. "I take my leave, assuring that the path to victory is clear."
In a flash of blood-red flame, the Dark Lord dissipated.
The War had begun.
