"Are there any big cats in the maze? Like tigers or lions?" He reached out with his senses. If there was they might just have a chance. He felt somethiing vaguely feline, but he wasn't sure what it was. He jerked Calla out of the way as the lizard thing almost leapt upon her. "RUN!" He said as the lizard chased after them with a roar. He smelled something burning, but had no time to contemplate it.

He felt his scarf shift. The KITTEN!!!!! He remembered that his hand had been cupped around it the entire time. As they ran, he tried to form a makeshift sling to keep the kitten in place. It yawned, showing thin white teeth. 'Why are we running?' it mewed softly. It fell back to sleep in the sling. He had to get them out of here. The exit....the exit! He remembered his time at the testing facility. They used to run him in mazes as well. He shifted through the turns and passageways expertly, but came to a dead end. At least they had lost the lizard~
