Jacob was stunned at the pressure on his lips, yet he knew he was longing for the touch since she appeared in his hotel room earlier that day. He closed his eyes and tasted her on his lips. Just like before. His mind blanking and just taking in the moment. His arms tightened on her back pulling her body closer to his and lowering himself so they could kiss without struggle. As she let go, he felt himself loosening his grip on her and becoming fazed at the motion. His eyes flew open as she began to speak. "Jacob,I-I," she started. His eyes searching hers for an answer. Too speechless himself, he let her go and leave him. He stared after her as she ran away from him. "Isabelle!" he called loudly after her. His heart weighed a ton at the moment. A part of him was angry. Another part happy. And the last one lost and confused. Jacob wasn't sure why he felt that way but he certainly didn't want to be in a daze for too long. He rubbed his hands together and tried to focus on getting back to a normal state of mind. He always felt drunk after kissing Isabelle. It was like a drug that he kept coming back to and once it was gone he broke. Usually, it wasn't a literal breaking, but this time he felt all weird in his stomach. There was a quiet joy that soaring knowing that maybe they weren't a lost cause and that Isabelle may still have feelings for him.
He walked in the direction of the hotel and started for the elevator. A voice followed up behind him and Jacob turned, on edge, at the sound. "I think she still loves you," the manager said gazing appreciatively at the floor. "You should tell her how you feel," he winked at him and then disappeared behind the desk to another room. Jacob whispered under his breath, "What the hell?" and went into the elevator as it came down. He was too concerned about Isabelle to make a proper insult. He walked towards their shared bedroom and stopped outside listening for any sounds that Isabelle might be awake. The rooms were more or less sound proofed. I wonder why, he thought sarcastically eyeing a DO NOT DISTURB sign hanging on the doorknob on the suite in front of theirs. He was about to enter, card near the slot, when he stopped himself. It would be awkward. Jacob had no problem with the kiss, it was just like old times. It was less intense as their past kisses. In truth, that kiss with a peck on the lips compared to Jacob's... hunger for Isabelle's tongue while they were together. He waited another fifteen minutes just piecing back memories of their life before the break up, smiling to himself. He wasn't just physically attracted to Isabelle, but he was drawn to her with her "The World will never break me" attitude and her absolute devotion to things and the tiny quirks that made her Isabelle. He could admire all of that just by itself and it would make him happy.
It was crazy, right? Big bad mysterious Jacob Lee becoming butter at the hands of Isabelle Choi. Mr. Choi said that's how it would feel like. He finally opened the door and walked in to find Isabelle sleeping on the bed. Seeing her so defenseless and pure made him weak in the knees. He put her through so much pain already, but he still wanted another shot. Was he being childish? Wishing for love again? Maybe. *
He changed in the bathroom and quietly plugged in his headphones as he slid into the couch, his foot dangling from the edge. Looking at Isabelle one more time, he went to bed. He woke up the next morning around 5am. Making sure that Isabelle was still asleep, he quickly showered and changed. He left the room just before 6 and ran down for breakfast. He didn't want to give Isabelle enough time to think like an adult and move on from that kiss. Leaving him behind. He found a small shop and bought her a bouquet of pink roses. He ran back to their room, Isabelle was still asleep. He placed it on the nightstand next to her so when she opened her eyes they would be the first thing she saw. Then he left again. Planning another surprise.
