It seemed that the snowfall had ended for the day. The clouds drifted across the sky in a lazy pace, closing out much of the sunlight. It was in the middle of the afternoon in the early spring, and yet, the snow still lay thick on the ground. On the side of a tall mountain, far away from civilisation, stood a single castle. Old, but still beautiful, it could have been a marvellous tourist attraction. Instead, it had long ago been bought by a rich person with a vision. Following that vision, the castle had been turned into a school for those who was able to, and wanted to, protect humanity.
I single path led up the mountain, barely wide enough for a single car. The travellers who walked there today however, had nothing even resembling a car. There were five of them, and all bore the signs of a group who had been through a lot to reach their destination. They were all dressed in white, so as to blend in with their surroundings, but here and there, blood red stains broke the illusion. Two of them carried a third between them, obviously because he was injured. As soon as the group got close enough to the castle, they were met by three guards, and escorted inside.
The hallways were mostly empty, since lessons for the day had ended. In silence the group parted, leaving the guards by the door. The two carrying the injured moved towards the hospital wing, and the two others were heading the opposite direction. Even though they too were injured, it seemed that the information they had came first.

"I saw them return." Callen remarked, trying to start a conversation. Next to her sat Anna, her friend, trying to find a specific book. They were in the library, partly trying to get any homework done, and trying to make time pass until dinner. She waited a few seconds, but got no reply. "They looked like they'd been through hell. Well, I saw them through the window, so I didn't get a close look, but still." There was still no reply from the other girl, and Callen was getting so bored that she was beginning to lose her focus.
"I'm just sayin' that something's up, y' know?" She then muttered, as she absent-mindedly doodled on a notepad.
"You shouldn't poke your nose where it doesn't belong, Callen." Anna then finally answered, as she looked at her friend with a faint smile. "It was a different group's assignment, so you shouldn't worry about it." She rose from her chair and turned around to face a bookshelf, where she searched for a few moments, before finding the book she needed. Her face had once again returned to her default "emotionless" expression, as it often did. She returned to the table, and fell silent for a few more moments.
Callen smirked, and gently punched Anna's shoulder. "I'm just curious, you know what I'm like."
