Alaizabel materialised within the shadows of an alcove just outside the throne room, leaning against the wall and breathing heavily.
How long had she been locked in that glass prison? Too long, just breaking free had been enough to almost completely drain her powers. She would need to consume a heart... and soon.
But first, it was time to discover exactly what disturbance had given her the power to break free.
Slowly, her eyes turned black as she began to sense the other beings in this place.
The blood of the royal line hit her senses almost immediately, there were two living mortals. Both female and youthful, Princesses. One had the scent of fear... recent fear, like a nightmare. She would enjoy torturing this princess very much. But there was another trace of royal blood... recently spilled. Male, adult... the King? The King was dead? Yes... now that she listened there was a human on the throne but he was not a royal. An overthrow perhaps? There were two males with her, one just some sickly noble hearted captain and the other...
"Blind bloodshed... how delightful." She murmured to herself, attempting to focus on the blind captain.
He was powerful, being shrouded in darkness only helped him. Had he been a demon in her time, Alaizabel would have certainly considered him a worthy consort. But she had more important things to do, once she'd taken revenge she could find her clan and take her place as leader once more-
There was a demon. Female, from a different clan. And she could sense her. Now this was an interesting turn of events.
With a slight groan of pain she doubled over slightly, trembling slightly from weakness. Later she could investigate these new creatures but for now she needed somewhere to regain her strength. Thankfully there was one final presence she could distinctly sense in the palace...
"Time to visit an old friend." She murmured, dematerialising into the shadows before any could see her.
