Paige froze. Both Bryce and Malcolm were being so nice to her she nodded at them. "I'm okay." she whispered as she gathered up all the pictures she could but left the one of Malcolm with him.
"You can keep . . ." she cleared her throat and gave a smile to both boys. "Thanks." she said nearly in silence. Suddenly he took out off his shoe and put it in her mouth. She covered her face and gave a laugh. She hadn't meant to laugh.
"Sorry." she said but giggled again. When he asked if she wanted to walk with him she froze up. Would that be like socializing? Was it so he could insult her without worrying about her tattling? She looked him over again then looked at Bryce. They seemed nice. "I guess I wouldn't mind to much." she got out, she sounded much more confidant than usual. "I don't really want to go home but I wouldn't mind walking around." she said and tugged at her papers. She wasn't sure what people talked about but she decided to continue the art topic. "Art really isn't that good of a talent. It'd be much better to be as daring as you are or maybe as smart as you." she said gesturing to the appropriate boy and she winced. They didn't really care. She reminded herself. They were probably interested because she was talking. She clamped her mouth shut and clutched her folders to her chest. She started shuffling to where Malcolm had been headed. Then pointed questioningly.
