Dylon heard Jordan finish his coffee and head back into his room to change. That's when she decided to pick up the newspaper and see if any job listings interested her. Jordan was right, she didn't really HAVE to work, but she wanted something to keep her busy during the day. "I could be a dog walker!" she called half jokingly. Jordan came into her room and leaned against her door frame. "A dog walker? Really? That sounds...fun" he responded sarcastically. "Shut up" she laughed "it's an option. Like you said...I don't really need the money and I DO like dogs..."
Jordan plopped himself on her bed and sighed. "I can always get you a job with my father's construction company" he smirked, making it obvious that he was kidding. "I'm always willing to learn new things" Dylon replied seriously. "Oh come on Dyl, I was kidding. You really want a career in construction? You? An Heiress?" It was Dylon's turn to roll her eyes. "Yes. I'm not stuck up, i'm not made of porcelain. Granted...I AM breakable, but I'm also fixable" she laughed, and he laughed too. "That's true. If you're serious I will actually talk to my dad." Dylon thought for a moment "Sure." she paused "Talk to him. I'd like to learn a new trade"
They sat in silence for a moment then Dylon said "So, you wanna come to Maxwell's party tonight or no?" Jordan laughed "I have to work actually. We're roofing a house in about an hour so I won't be able to go, but you let me know how it goes and if Maxwell still insists on being straight." he gave her a wink and she laughed. He had always had a crush on Maxwell but it was nothing serious. Now, he just liked to see Dylon's facial expressions when he brought him up. "I don't know" she laughed "Maybe if you profess your undying love for him he'll switch teams." they both laughed and Jordan got up and went to his room to pick up his tool belt and box. "Have fun tonight Dyl!" he said as he exited the apartment.
Dylon laid back on her bed and smiled. She was excited for the party. 'The last party he threw was...spectacular" she thought.
