Theo heard the French from the guy next to her, and understood it. She didn't say anything, though, just sort of waved in his direction. She was too busy wondering if she'd managed to break yet another phone.
The next comment was interesting. Since he was a foreigner, she could attempt to be a little polite, at least until he accidentally pushed her buttons. She frowned. "Mean to technology...I think this is my seventh phone in six months. And nothing my phone says is ever good." It was true. Theo didn't have any friends to give her number to, so all her texts and calls were from her parents or other relatives. Or a teacher, though those were formal.
She leaned back slightly, her eye closed as she mentally reorganized her schedule to be free for her appointment. She looked back at the phone, yawning a little, which miraculously only had a slightly cracked screen. Maybe buying a solid cover had been a good idea.
She settled down again, lazily sipping her smoothie and managing to relax, even though people kept coming in. Theo didn't realize what was happening, but anyone else would notice that she was growing steadily sleepier.
