Ava waited patiently as Aaron pulled out his phone. 'Why are you leaving her in her time of need?' a voice chimed in her head 'Because she doesn't want my help, and i'm done being the parent in this relationship' she thought. She watched as he hesitated for a moment and she was about to tell him that he didn't have to entertain her but the next thing that came out of his mouth surprised her. "Hey, do you want to go for a walk instead? We might find some pretty cool stuff" "Uh, yeah" she put on a weak smile "Sure." her response didn't sound all that sure but she really did want to get out of the hospital and she honestly didn't mind leaving with Aaron.
"You lead, i'll follow" she said softly. They walked outside and Ava took a deep breath, savoring the fresh air. She couldn't physically see it, but she could feel a bruise forming on the side of her face. "Thank you for doing all this by the way. I know we don't really know each other so it was very...unexpected of you." she said, unsure of how to finish her sentence.
