"My MP3..." she heard him groan.

This received a chuckle from Corinne. He barely escaped serious injuries, and he was upset about his MP3 player? What a strange boy. She listened to the man's analysis of his physical state. From the looks of it, the boy wasn't too badly hurt. At least that was a relief. Perhaps she was being too pushy. It sounded like the boy was going to be alright aside from a really painful bruise. He needed to get an x-ray to make sure, but he could schedule it at some other time.

"I guess you'll be fine. Sorry about overreacting. I just kind of wanted to make sure you weren't going to die." She said as she scratched her head.

She saw the second ambulance roll in, and talked to the paramedic quickly. It didn't look like the boy had broken anything, amazingly. It would be better for him to get checked out, but it wasn't life threatening so she guessed it would be up to him. She shouldn't be controlling him after all. She turned back to the boy and gave him a smile.

"Well, looks like you're right. You're a tough cookie. You can decide whether or not you want to go to the hospital. But I'm warning you, all we have in the café are packs of ice. No painkillers." she warned.

"Ah," she said as she remembered, "My name is Corinne. I'm the head waitress at this café." She extended her arm and offered her hand.
