"I understand completely," Nicole nodded as Blake underlined the conditions of her stay with the group and introduced the other members, "I will not become a burden." If she couldn't find a light source, then she would not be allowed to rejoin a group. A torch should be easy enough to find once we're in Lismoore. A simple enough task, but Nicole couldn't help but feel that she wasn't welcomed in the group. The one girl... quiet with blond hair -Eve-; she seemed more uncomfortable with Nicole's presence than the others. Nicole felt an aura of disdain coming from the woman. Perhaps she had previous contact with her before during a raid; it wasn't something she could deal with at the moment, but it may eventually present a problem in the near future.

Nicole noticed the nightcrawlers hissing and stalking the group before Blake had commented. She didn't even turn to see how many were following. Nicole was familiar enough to know that the nightcrawlers were intelligent creatures that hunted in groups and tended not to attack other groups; they preferred isolated, weak prey as most carnivorous hunters did. Still, this didn't mean they weren't a threat. Normally they would wait and follow patiently until one of the weaker members of the group falls behind so they can overwhelm the unfortunate soul, but if they felt brave enough to attack the whole group, despite their access to light, Nicole and her traveling companions would have an immense problem on their hands.

Screams overtook the sounds of the hissing nightcrawlers; they were coming from the town just behind the group. Nicole turned her head to see nothing but darkness engulfing the area where the town had been. Nightcrawlers had flocked to the town just after the Nicole and the four others had left. She doubted they could properly defend themselves against the wild beasts. Nicole imagined the size of the pack had to be large for them to attack an entire town of humans. Nicole became nervous at the thought.

"We must make haste, Blake," she warned the group leader, quickening her pace, "I fear the number of beasts attacking is far greater than anything we could handle. The town has bought us some much-needed time and we must not waste it."
