Melody opened her eyes in time to see Ren slide to stop and fall overtop of her, felt his arms wrap around her waist tightly, she let out a squeak of embarressment, and shut her eyes. Don't think about it, don't think about it! Do not think about his arms around you! There is a psycho ghost trying to kill you for God's sake! There is nothing roman-- Her thought cut off by the jostling impact of hitting the wall.

Suddenly she felt Ren turning her around to face him and his one arm now over her shoulder with his hand on her head, keeping her head down. She felt his other arm around her waist tighten, pulling her body against his, causing another squeak to escape Melody's lips. She pulled her bag up to her chest and held in there in an iron grip, while reminding herself there was a killer ghost out to kill them and to focus only on that and not some boy, she didn't have time for relationships, they were meaningless.

From through her lashes she could see Jacob's lanky body down the hall, moving fast as Ren shouted something like directions. Melody's head felt foggy, Wha-What's wrong... she heard herself say in her head.

Then Ren was looking at her with a grin, a grin that Melody returned in kind.

"You all right? Good to run? Nothing twisted or anything? Don't have to carry you do I?"

He was clearly teasing her and in her light-headedness she giggled. "All right?" Her giggles turned into a quiet laughter that gave way to sobs.

"I've got a plan after this."

Ren winked at her before returning his attention to Jacob.

"The rumors never included homocidal spirits. So what the hell is her problem... Besided stories I don't have any knowledge on psychotic ghosts." She whispered more to herself then Ren.

Shaking her head to clear her mind, she wiped her face with her arm and then looked Ren in the eyes. "What's your plan?" She said sternly, putting on her best 'I can handle anything' game face.
