"Didn't take you long to come around."
Valem rolled her eyes. He could be annoying at times, but the kid had a good heart, and Valem liked that about him. "Oi!" she heard, "Got a nice catch this time! Consider this your big tip for the month!". That was enough to freeze Valem where she stood. She thought Nathan must have been talking about Nair's earlier comment, and she let out an angered huff. Was that all she was to him? Just another of his countless women, of whom he referred to as a 'catch'? Then again, he could be talking about the loot. This peaked her curiosity just enough to make her walk back onto the deck, a puzzled expression on her face. "Catch? What catch are you referring to, boy?", her voice was cold and snake-like, like something you'd hear in your worst nightmare. She didn't often show this side whilst around her crew, but it did come out when she was either deeply offended or super annoyed.
Rat saw the loot heading in his direction. He jumped up and grabbed the bag with both hands, then landed perfectly on two feet. He shook the bag slightly, then giggled and passed it to Nair. "I reckon it's a good loot" he commented, "Don't often get big loots 'round this time". With another small giggle, he looked down at Nathan, "Treat Valem well, or you'll have me to answer for!". Rat was quite protective of Valem, even though he'd only known her for a short while. He wouldn't want any harm to come to her. He sat down and exhaled deeply, "So, what you thinkin'a doin' with your loot, Nair?" Rat asked, curiosity clear on his face.
