Nathan froze on the spot when he heard the less than comforting sound of Valem's cabin door slamming open. Her words were cold and poison coated and as he slowly turned on the spot, she didn't look all that happy either. It was like looking at the devil staring over the shoulder of an angel. He was at a lost of what he could have done wrong this time and it was obvious that her intention wasn't to brutally assault his lips with hers this time though he had a feeling that he'd get a good hit to the head if he didn't tread carefully. Which didn't help much as the first words that left his lips were completely idiotic. "Do you ever feel old calling me 'boy' all the time?" He sighed and put his hands on his hips as he chewed on the inside of his cheek. A few seconds ticked by before he put the pieces together. His eyebrows shot up as he lifted up his hands defensively and took a step back. "Oh, no. No, no, no, no. I-I didn't mean -that-. God, I didn't mean that. I meant... I had a cut for Nair. I would -never- think like that." Nathan calmed down for a moment and suddenly got a wicked thought in his mind. He lowered his hands and stepped towards the captain again, trying to keep a straight face. "And I'm absolutely appalled you'd even think that I'd use that context!" he said as he pointed an accusing finger in her face. "I've done nothing but give, give, give and you're on my case just because you want a reason to be. Is that it, huh?" Of course, Nathan wasn't -really- upset but if he played his cards right, maybe a little convincing guilt trip would get Valem off his back. And hopefully not hate him for it after.
