Sabine Marx

Her answer seemed so hurried, the words almost tumbled over each other. Strange humans. That could either mean that she really wasn't hungry, or there was some other reason that she was declining. Perhaps some custom instilled in her youth. Sabine didn't often speak to humans, rather he enjoyed their literature, so he wasn't completely sure. As with Daemon literature, he knew that some pieces of human fiction were romanticized, and some very real parts were omitted. Perhaps she was too skittish to eat with him. That could always be an option. She could see him as some sort of threat. Or maybe it was one of those obscure rules in her etiquette book. Hmm. Daemon culture required one to agree to dining, even if they weren't particularly hungry, so as not to spurn the cooks and the host. But Humans were different, Sabine needed to remember. They didn't know his customs, so they sure as hell wouldn't follow them.

The blonde daemon tipped his head slightly to one side in thought, bringing a finger momentarily to his chin. This wasn't his strong point, dealing with human girls who seemed wont to resist every attempt to be a good host. Was she just resistive, or did she honestly think that she was being polite by being didn't even have a word to express his mixture of frustration and confusion. He could solve logic puzzles, but this girl here was no logical. And the more time he spent thinking about it the more wound up he grew. What was he supposed to do now?

"Strange humans." he couldn't help but mutter to himself as he moved nearer to Haven and the door, the fingers of his free hand skimming along the counter-top as he walked past it. "Would you like a tour of the manor then?" He offered as he drew nearer, offering an attempt at a polite smile. "You can't thwart every intention of mine to be a good host." Perhaps if someone else had uttered the words they would be humorous, but Sabine wasn't a particularly humorous man. They weren't sharp, or biting, but stated as a simple fact loaded with silent undertones of his current confusion and mild irritation about the whole situation.

"Don't hesitate to request anything you require." He said, resting a hand for a second on her shoulder before moving past her, out the door and into the kitchens. One of the servants was looking through the shelves, obviously confused about the startling shortage of plates. Everyone in the kitchen looked around at him, all eight of them. Sabine had odd eating habits, to say the least, so the cooks usually abstained from making food with the expectation that he eat it unless he specifically requested, but it was getting on time for the servants to forage for food.

"Send someone out tomorrow morning to retrieve a new set of formal plateware." He ordered the room in general. They'd figure it out among themselves, he didn't have time to seek out the head cook when he was obviously not here, guarding his kitchen against ne'er-do-wells. He was probably storming around, trying to figure out what happened to all the nice plates. He wouldn't be nearly as angry once he figured out who exactly had done away with them, however. One simply wasn't angry with Sabine. Obviously.

"Come along, Flower." He said aimlessly back at Haven as he paused for a moment in the middle of the room. It wasn't much of a request. he wasn't going to stand around and offer suggestions until she finally said yes to something. That wasn't how Sabine worked. So he would show her around the manor a tad.
