Rain waved Ron's words away. "Don't worry about it. I'd rather you were safe with me tired." She smiled, just to show him she was fine with it.
Shaking her head in answer to Ron's question, Rain opened her mouth and was about to tell him she was fine when he pushed the piece of paper into her hand. Instead of speaking, Rain shut her mouth with a snap. Why should she tell him, he was fine, anyway? Shouldn't she have the right to voice her feelings?
After Ron left, Rain sat on her bed for a full five minutes, committing the radio channel to memory. She then carefully folded the paper and placed it inside her pillowcase.
Downstairs, she watched Jasper. She seemed fine to Rain, so Rain decided it would be safe to skip asking if she needed a once over. After waving goodbye to Jasper, Ron and Arthur, Rain turned to her own team. "All right, guys! Ready to go?"
