"Morgan hated keeping secrets, but he didn't want to worry Reito. He had enough on his mind."
Morgan kept the easy smile plastered onto his face until he shut the door behind him in the bathroom. It dropped almost instantly, his eyes heavy and haunted with a restless night. He knew Reito had some inkling of when Morgan got little to no sleep, but he never really would talk about it with him. As much as he hated tip-toeing around the truth with his boyfriend, he didn't want Reito to worry about him while he was working, either. Reito had enough on his plate, he didn't need to add Morgan's monsters on there as well, especially not with the new kid just across the hall. A part of Morgan seethed at the thought. Rei was his. This kid intruding didn't belong here. And yet, Morgan couldn't help but see so much of himself in Volos, it pulled at him. There had to be something he could do to make the kid see just how bad things would get if he kept on like this. He sighed, looking at his scared eyelid. It itched. He turned away from the mirror, showered, and stepped out, pulling on shorts and a white t-shirt, then his blue cover-alls. The nice thing about his job at the moment, he could wear whatever the hell he wanted to, as he was now the agencies' lead undercover cop. Sure, it was a lot more dangerous than a street cop, but it payed better, and truth be told, it was a lot more fun. He walked out to the kitchen, taking a long drink from his coffee cup Reito had placed on the table for him. He glanced around, and then up the hall. "Volos hasn't come out of his room yet, I see."
