Jasper stopped and pursed her lips as she watched Derek choke on the roll, her hand hesitating before going back after his face.
When he recovered, he stood up straight and looked at her with a flustered look on his face, she didn't get it.
"Don't do that. I can clean myself up...Thanks though.........."
She frowned, somewhat angrily. She was just trying to be nice. "Hey, I don't understand you, my mom did that to me all th- oh." She trailed off, suddenly realizing. She didn't know much about Derek's past, but what she did know was enough for her to figure out what she did wrong. She tossed the napkin to him and walked out of the kitchen. "Sorry, I forgot." She muttered, heading to the living room.
