Eve looked around the room. None of her companions were there. Had they left already? But they would need the batteries she had… How could they just leave? Had she just gone through that horrible experience for nothing? But then Nicole appeared in front of her and she let out a soft, relieved breath.

"Are you all right?" Nicole was asking. "Are you hurt? Is someone after you?" Eve blinked. Was she alright? Not entirely, no. Not at all, really. Was she hurt? Her mind drifted for a moment, then she snapped back to the present with a shudder and pulled her coat tight around her body, crossing her arms protectively over her chest. "N-no," she said quietly, trying to keep her voice from betraying her. "I'm alright. I- I was just afraid that everyone had left, because I was late." She tried to smile, but it came out more like a grimace.

Suddenly the sounds of screams nearby drew her attention and she hurried over to the window, staring out with wide eyes as she watched part of the town go black. The part of the town they had all been sent to. The part she had just come from. A small part of her thought that this might be the end of the man who had taken advantage of her, and she felt horrible for the grim satisfaction that gave her. Eve watched for survivors. Anyone. Where were Blake and Sa- oh!

She spotted Samara running for the hotel. Eve moved away from the window to turn to the woman when she came in, about to ask if Blake was with her. "We... need...to.. go" she heaved, wiping sweat from her brow... "This place is about to go to the shitter..." Samara looked up and around the lobby, "Where is Blake?" Eve frowned. "We haven't seen him!" She hugged herself tighter, troubled. He was their leader… They couldn't just leave him behind. She couldn't bear to lose another member of their little group right now. Her mind was racing. If the market area was down, it wouldn't be long before the rest of the town was lost. They did have to get out of there. But not yet. "Let's just give him another minute. Maybe he's coming…."
