The Lobelia Islands

A small collection of islands that are reputed to possess many stories and legends of the past, scattered along these islands are hidden ruins and relics of an era long since forgotten by the present. "How long must I live in this waking nightmare?"

A Vaporeon padded her way around the dark Pokemon Center, as restless as the girl on the couch watching TV was. Her Milotic regarded Rain with a baleful stare, and then ignored her. Rain did the same to the Milotic as well, as she padded back to where her trainer lay sleeping. Well, thrashing, was more the word. Her ears dropped as she watched him mutter and sweat in his sleep. She knew he was having the same dream he'd been having. About his youngest sibling, the one he called Kitten, and the one whom her own daughters ran with.

She curled up next to him, as remembering her own daughters only made her depressed as well, since the two of them were missing along with Kitten. A particularly loud moan from the orange-haired boy woke another of the six Pokemon around him, a Raichu, who sleepily looked around, and then gave a huff of annoyance at his trainer who had awoken him. However, this huff also evaporated when the electric Pokemon saw how disturbed his trainer's sleep was. "Rai....?" The Pokemon asked softly, and when the boy didn't respond, Sparky gave his trainer a mild shock.

Morgan awoke with a start, his green eye wide with fear, apprehension, distress, and pain. He sat up gasping, drenched in a cold sweat, and felt a curious tingling sensation all over his body. He closed his eye, taking a deep breath, and then glanced at his watch. 3:00 AM He sighed, and then glanced down at Sparky, who was gazing at his trainer with concern. Morgan gave him a tired smile. "I'm okay, Sparky, really. Thanks boy. Go back to sleep." The Raichu gave his trainer a disbelieving look, but curled back up next to Flare, Morgan's Arcanine, anyway. Rain poked her nose at Morgan's left hand, and the male absent-mindedly petted her. He gazed or his other Pokemon, Flare, the Arcanine, who was fast asleep. Sparky, a Raichu, who was currently trying to get back to sleep. Sora, his Venusaur, who was snoring. Jet, his Fearow, was far above him, roosting in the rafters over their heads. Rain, his Vaporeon, was beside him and obviously awake, and last that left Trickster, his Alakazam.

Who wasn't around. Noticing this, Morgan sighed. Trickster hardly ever slept, which Morgan supposed it was due to all the time he slept when he was an Abra. Still, Morgan didn't like it when he wandered off. He stood up and stretched, clicking his tongue against his teeth to call Rain, who stood up with him, following him through the dark Pokemon Center. Morgan found his mind wandering to Kari, and to his nightmare. His little sister Kari, whom he fondly called Kitten, had gone missing seven months before-hand, along with his Leafeon and Glaceon, Terra and Icis. He'd spent the last six searching for her, and had turned up absolutely nothing as to her whereabouts, until he'd finally received a tip that someone had spied a young girl with a Leafeon and Glaceon in the Lobelia Islands, in tow of a male with pink hair and a Latias. But then, he'd also heard that someone saw a whole herd of Lugia on the islands as well. Seven years as the world-renowned "Tracker" had taught him not to trust much of the common word. Still, with no leads, he had to try something. It was his sister after all.

Lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice Rain had left his side. The Vaporeon had caught Tricksters' scent, and had followed it, leaving her trainer behind. She came upon the Alakazam standing behind the couch where the trainer with the Milotic were watching TV. "Vay...? Vaporeon..." She nudged the Alakazam gently, who glanced down at her, and then resumed his staring at the trainer. Vaporeon cocked her head at him, and then padded around the couch to look at the pink-haired girl as well. It was then that Rain sensed it, and she froze, her blue eyes gazing at the girl with the Milotic with a curious expression. "Ala..." Trickster said, moving to stand next to Rain. Both of the Pokemon could sense it. The girl had the touch of Entei.

Morgan turned a corner, and realized he was alone. He looked around, but Rain was nowhere in sight. Groaning to himself, he turned around and backtracked his way to her, finding both her, and Trickster, standing at the end of a couch in front of a TV, regarding a girl with pink hair and a Milotic curiously. Morgan himself only glanced at the girl before turning to his Pokemon. "C'mon you two, what are you doing? Let's leave the girl to her shitty TV programs." It suddenly seemed to dawn on him what he said, and he glanced down at her, looking at her a bit closely, and suddenly wondered if he'd misjudged the gender on the trainer, but let it slip his mind as he continued. "No offense to you, sorry. Sorry if Rain and Trickster bothered you. Not exactly sure what they were thinking." He regarded the two of them with a mild one-eyed glare, and it suddenly hit him that he didn't have his eye patch on. Even with only the light of the TV to illuminate his face, the scar still wasn't a perfect painting one would choose to lay their gaze on. He dug the patch out of his pocket and slapped it on. He coughed once. "Right, sorry about this, again, really. I didn't mean to bother you."
