Kate sat on a sand bag, she had been sitting behind the small table the evac people had set up to organize those few who where left, so far the man in the Hazmat suit had done nothing but make those in the makeshift camp mad. Matthew Hendricks, the man who had saved her skin at the hopsital was a few feet away pacing back and forth, his jeans where still stained with blood, some of it she was sure was that of his daughter. Her own appearence was not much better, but that did not matter, they were alive. That mattered.
"Matt stop pacing, you need to rest" She said looking up from her hands, the tall man kept walking, "We need to get out of here, hell we should have long since gotten out of here" he replied. He stopped walking and looked over at the chain link fence that was doing little to keep out the growing crowd of Walkers. Kate followed his gaze, then the sound of loud talking coming from another group across the camp got her attention, "Wonder what is going on with them?" she muttered, Matt frowned, "I don't know but its about time we figure something out, we will be safer in numbers anyway," he started to walk away towards the group. Kate just stayed seated watching him walk away, the faint sound of a helicoptor aproaching reached her ears over the sounds of the Walkers moans, Kate looked to the sky trying to see where the thing was coming from, she saw it off in the distance and smiled, rescue was here. But the smile didn't last, the helicoptor was flying crazy, she stood up, eyes still watching the bird as it fell to the ground and slid with a metallic screach.
At the sight of the pilot Kate grabbed her backpack and started running towards him, upon reaching where the man fell she quickly stepped back, her jaw dropped as she saw the extent of his injuries. The head Hazmat suit man slowly walked over, his mask prevented her from seeing his face, "He was the pilot coming to pick you all up, there won't be another pilot coming to this EVAC for another week."
Matt walked up behind her, "If thats the last pilot for a week what the hell are we to do?" his angery was obvious in his voice, his right hand drifted to the pistol at his waist, part of him wanted to shoot the dumb bastard right then, "Pack up everything you all have, this shit is just getting worse." Matt looked at the man standing across from the pilots body, he glanced at the ambulance that had been mentioned a few moments before before looking back at Chris. "Driving out of here is do-able," he said moving his hand from his gun, "Ya'll got room for two more? Might be better to stay together in the long run"
