Battle magic. Well... crap. He was taking that class. Okay, no problem, he'd just have to keep his head down, not attract attention- Oh, who am I kidding? Even in a school like this I'm gonna stand out if it kills me. On the bright side it seemed very unlikely the vampire teacher would actually kill him. Just... be creepy. The 'riding' comment about Angelo cheered him up, though, and he snickered a bit.
Then Prof. Romanov showed up and suddenly he found his attention elsewhere. For the most part he didn't say anything this time, save for an awkward attempt to apologize to Hrutao, who vanished before he could finish. Okay, that one was on him. He'd been right about the ego, apparently, but was so distracted by meeting Ever that he'd forgotten all about him. He would have to apologize later, though it was looking like that might not work. When Prof. Romanov called him a diva, Ali just grinned and shot back "Remind me to introduce you to an eagle called Dactylos." On a more pleasant subject, Romanov didn't seem bothered (though she did call him Alistair, which he never liked) and her vanishing act was seriously impressive. So much so that he even forgot to try and catch a glimpse when she leapt into the air. Well, if this happened a lot then he'd have another opportunity.
He nodded a bit and, after a moment, laughed along with Ever. The day was starting to seem a bit surreal. He was used to magick, yes - of a certain kind. He was used to him having magick, to an eagle who spoke air language and to spirits of air, wind, weather and so on. Forests popping up out of nowhere and supermodel teachers vanishing in the breeze, not so much. He'd probably wake up tomorrow wondering how much of it he'd dreamt. Mental note: This is not a dream. Unless it's like Inception where it's a really vivid dream.
Back in what was probably reality, they were now officially at what he figured was probably the Puck dorm. "This is it," he remarked. "C'mon, let's find my room and dump this stuff." He gestured vaguely with the gym bag in one hand and the other on the strap of his backpack. He had some other stuff that was being sent along - discretely - but for now he just wanted to charge up his laptop and... and... "Okay, dumb question, just occurred to me," he said slowly. "This place has electricity, right? Internet? Wi-fi?"
